I stop to remember the days past
And compare them to the times of now
To see how everything is the same
Though one thing has changed
I question the sky whether you'll finally come around
If you'll say you love me
Or if we'll last through this only to find it was all a game
One with no win, no trophy
Just endless amounts to play
It's something I want so bad I can taste
To hear the words from your mouth
A burst from the night shot through the dark
Drifting down will linger in the air
Then tumble to the dirt
There it will sulk beating as a heart
Time ticking with endless pounds
As I bend to scoop it up from the cold ground
My arms will cradle the words you never before spoke
And I'll listen again and again
Saying if this is a dream, I pray I never wake
Because my heart would remain broke
It's something I couldn't bear to live with
The sky slices open and waters pour
The rain washing you clean of the feelings
Of all I made your mind and soul think the day before
You're fresh to start over
And again I'm over burdened
With the chore of words and thoughts
The hopeless task of taking over your heart
Washing it dry again
Shining and wrapping it up
Till you realize I'm the one you love
And you write off your fears of a change in us
Deciding we can only get better
You'll see I'm true and I'm real and I'm one you can trust
Never again to have trouble saying the word love
With those words spoken we'll be closer
We'll have each other and that's more than enough

who is this about?

Maranda, who is this poem about? It sounds like it is about someone you loved and who loved you and then quickly changed their mind? is that so?

actually, no

actually no, this poem is not about someone who decided they didn't love me. it deals with the person i am currently with- this was written kind of as a fearful poem, letting him know what i would go through emotionally if something were to happen to us, also written in another view to show how someone else would react to finding out a secret or something they didn't like about the person they love
