Giving The Gift
1 July, 2002

If it were anyone but me
If it were any other season
Than spring
Would my days feel dead
As the whole world blooms
A nation wide trance of happiness
And my single solitaire gloom
It seems so out of place
It seems
I've run out of time
But I'll hold my chin up
Fight my tears back
Saying I'm doing alright
Giving the gift of lies
One more time
Hiding my eyes
So the truth will never be revealed
My horrid torment
Safely concealed
Behind peeling skin
The product of lies
The consequence of sin
The blame for my demise
