vinebar

running through a dense field
children of the corn chase me
inching closer they scream
"kill the girl! kill this fiend!"
i sense their hot breath on me
i believed i entered the field unseen
lifting daggers they stab me
the blades slice through my skin so deep
i lay unconscious with no motion
my soul is now their own to keep
