Steps Alone
25 March, 2002

From one day to the next
I'll live my life in steps
Looking for the cracks in the road
To avoid breaking mom's back
Nothing's quite the same now
I stroll alone around the town
The fullness of my heart
Yet to be re-found
I hope to never see you again
But I crave to see your eyes
Need to feel your presence
Need to be in your arms
I'd rather spend forever without you
Than to spend another day like this
To be without your constant cold heartedness
Would be to remain in a peaceful state of bliss
I'll count the days until you leave
Throwing a party on the outside
While inside I bleed
But I'd rather things be this way
You and I on separate worlds
Too far to swim across the sea
So I can live from one day to the next
Living my life in steps
And hurt less
Knowing my times with you have ended
Because the friendship we once had
Will never be mended
