There In Heaven, Here On Earth

My eyes will grow dim
My heart will slow its pace
My smile will turn down
It's been weeks since I've seen your face

My skin will grow pale
My movements will slow
My body will turn thin
Happiness is a feeling I'll no longer know

My mind will race
My palms will sweat
My eyes will hurt from crying
Wanting something I'll never get

I'll slowly be dying
My soul sinking fast
Yearning for the relationship
The friendship I needed to last

My bones will break
My heart will too
I will cease to exist
All because I can't have you

I'll watch you from heaven
My heart skipping a beat
Wanting to return to you
For a chance to fix things, repeat

I'll blow you kisses of raindrops
To wash away your pain
Send you plenty of sunshine
On troubled days to keep you sane

I'll guide you through questions
Wipe away your tears at night
Never letting the pain get too bad
Never letting you out of my sight

When you have a smile on your face
I'll smile too
I'll know I'm not needed right then
But leaving you is something I'll never do

I'll truly be your angel
Your guardian and your friend
Waiting to come down from heaven
When you need a helping hand

If only I could be all that you needed here on earth
Your best friend, you lover, the protector of your soul
But it's not the right time, perhaps not the right place
But in my heart, on heaven or earth, you'll be the greatest love I'll ever know
