Alone

Alone I walk through life
I choose to stand behind my walls
Trying to accept the truth
That I too am worthy
No matter to fate

I refuse to allow the loss
that could come at any time
I refuse you the pain
that loving me will cause
Alone I stand

Only a taste of love felt
to last me through my journey
I long to allow you in
Yet chase away the dream
But I need love still

Alone I walk through life
I spare you the undue pain of me
A victim of my choice
It doesn't stop the yearning
Yet I still choose alone

a gift

Yet again you have blown me away. How can one touch what another is feeling and put into words so perfectly? You truly have a gift!

I’m at a loss for words.
