Iraq's Past
Author: Brandi

vinebar

War is here
But not so near
It's over there
Not over here
Our fearless soldiers are fighting fast,
Trying to remove Iraq's past
It may be a long hard fight
Trying to do what we know is right
Iraq's president is hiding in fear
Putting his own citizens in harms way,
Only to protect his own rear
We need to do our job fast,
Trying to remove Iraq's past
When the war is over, all said and done
Iraq will still be there
Through all the ruins of the gun
We will restore, make old anew
Correct the things that became askew
There will be but one difference
A difference that will hold a huge significance
The Iraqi people will be freed of their terror,
The terror made by just one error
Sadaam Hussein will be out of power
his people allowed to speak hour by hour
They will be allowed to speak their minds,
Speak of things that were once forbidden
Opinions will be revealed,
Thoughts hopes and dreams will not remain hidden
We will have removed Iraq's past,
At last
