Professional Steelhead Hunter

vinebar

I'm tired of mendin' fences
I'd rather wear out my britches
On the riverbank
With a fishin' pole in my hand
I no longer want to be a cowboy
Uh-uh, no way, no how boy
I'd rather be the world's
Lowest paid fisherman

I'm sore from sittin' in the saddle
And sick of lookin' at big, dumb cattle
That just stare at me
Like I'm some kind of fool
I''d rather be where the fish are jumpin'
Yeah, my heart really starts pumpin'
When I find myself
A deep, clear pool

I know I could be an actor
But what I'm really after
Is the kind of job
I can look forward to
To be out there
Early in the mornin'
When that big, bright sun gets burnin'
Reelin' in steelhead
Till the day is through

I want to be
A professional steelhead hunter
Fish all winter
And fish all summer
Livin' by the river
With my sweet lover
I want to be
A professional steelhead hunter

Ahh..fish

Oh, I love fish! I'd fish day in and day out, if I could!! It's so wonderful! My grandpa charters a boat, and takes people out fishing, so I guess that's where I get my love from. Anyway, great poem!! :-)

Crimson Angel, your Grandpa is.....

Crimson Angel, your Grandpa is fortunate to have a gem of a grand-daughter who enjoys fishing! Does he ever look at you strange when you kiss them before you throw them back? Ha! Ha! I really do appreciate and enjoy your comments!! When I grow up, I want a grand-daughter like that! Thank you, thank you!

Tarna, your " Eeeeeew Worms"..

Tarna, your " Eeeeeew Worms" comment is understood. I know many women don't want to get near them, and that's cool. I am glad that you read this, however, and that you took the time to let me know you'd rather be on Park Avenue and that you are a fan of Green Acres. We share something in common...I know that song, too! Thanks again! Best Regards, -Ben
