I Spoke
8 June, 2004

I spoke to your mother the other day,
She says you're fine
That love had at last come your way.
When I heard the news my spirit soared
But my heart collapsed.

I spoke to your brother the other day,
He says you're fine
That you are doing well
My hopes were raised,
But my dreams just fell.

I spoke to God the other day,
He says you're fine
That I must leave you alone,
No letters, no cards or even the phone.

I spoke to your heart the other day,
But it didn't hear
