Riding The Line

Now,
I sit in my corner,
riding the metro line...
tapping my foot
with the clanging of the tunnel sounds,
as the train flys without brakes
through the underground.
Throughout my daily travels,
I unravel my thoughts...
With every stop
I am closer to clarity...
The riders stare into space.
they stare through each other.

I stare beyond this illusion
and
into another scene.
It seems
that the image of your shadow
was at the corner
of a nearby street...
There were others around-
People with briefcases and long faces
and backpacks and grocery bags.
Traveling home.
Everyone..alone...

Your aura dissipated
into the twilight hour-
to your safe place.

I wandered slowly-
looking at the clouds,
darkening
with the disappearance of the sun.
The street lights and neon signs
created colours that cast unreal
shades of shadows into the skies-
through the veil of misty cloud-
through
to where
I would like to journey
some day
some way
I would like to venture
beyond the mountain...
Would be pleasant..
Don't you think ?

Pondering

This poem fits your poetic name.... I can see you riding on a train, pondering about your love, as you stare glumly out the window.... WONDERFUL imagery! Poetic poem!

Smiles,
Meridian
