In a hand of ivory bone and silken sinew
Lies a scarlet rose, stripped of all its beauty
Wilted from days in the dark
Withered from lack of love

In a mind, seen through a blue decaying eye
Lies a scarlet rose, slowly dying
As pedals flutter down to barren ground
While the fragile hand closes around the stem

A sickening crunch,
All that remains is nothing but dust

Beauty and The Beast

Oh man! This is so enchanting just like the rose in The Beauty and The Beast! Where when the last petals of the rose were shed, the Beast, finally turned into a handsome young man, after the spell was broken! Great poem, described wonderfully! Especially line 5, "in a mind, seen through a blue decaying eye"... Real good! I might find you in the Guiness Poetry Book of World Records! Good writing style! Smiles, Meri
