Thought, I Heard, It Raining

Last night, as I snuggled up to my dreams of you
Fell asleep, with, with your heart held, close to mine
Then, I tossed and turned, no place of comfort, could I find
In my big, empty bed, then, I thought, I heard the rain

Oh, must be, another dream, still, I couldn’t sleep
Always, as I tossed and turned, still, I heard the falling, of the rain
Couldn’t take it any more, so, I got up, looked out the window pane
Saw, your tears, sliding down, each drop from your eyes, said, I miss you to

I toss and turn, trying to find, your chest, upon which to lay my head
Still, I tossed and turned, no place of comfort, could I find
In my big empty bed, then, I thought, I heard the rain
Oh, it must be, another dream, still, I couldn’t sleep

Finally, the morning came, and the rain had left, roses in bloom
Butterflies, trying to touch every bloom, humming birds, saying
To the butterflies, no!, she is mine, I saw her first, Think, I need
A cup of coffee, then the phone rings and I hear your voice, say

“Thought, I heard It Raining”
