Barbara Oh Barbara

In amoung the sagebrush
she's a rootin' tootin' tooter
As she moves through Texas
on her mighty motor-scooter
She's got the buffalo runnin'
as she plows full-steam ahead
When she passed the Jack Rabbit
The Jack Rabbit jumped up and said

Barbara...Oh Barbara
You are some kind of woman
Like this big prairie never saw
Ridin' along in the breeze
free and pretty as you please
Barbara...Oh Barbara

She brought pens and paper
to jot all her memories down
Adding notes to her journal
as she drives through little towns
She went by some antelope
and it was a very strange thing
The antelope cleared their throats
and those critters began to sing

Now if you go to Texas
keep a sharp eye out on the road
You might see her in the cactus
or where the bluebonnets grow
There's no way you can miss her
if you just should happen to see
A woman on a motor scooter
who's writing pretty poetry

Barbara...Oh Barbara
You are some kind of woman
Like this big prairie never saw
Ridin' along in the breeze
free and pretty as you please
Barbara...Oh Barbara

------- Author's Notes -------

This one is dedicated to none other han our own "Barb", here at dreamersreality. This work of fiction was inspired by a comment left on one of my writings about Texas. Barb, I am not worried a bit about...

Barb, I am not worried a bit about getting hit by your motor scooter, girlfriend. You see I ALWAYS wear my giraffe suit when riding my solor powered skateboard and my giraffe suit is double-thickly padded. A kid on a trike once hit me at 3 miles per hour and I wasn't even bruised. My giraffe suit itches my ears a little but it has saved my life! Haa! Haaa! Haaa! Anyway, you are welcome, and I am keeping a sharp look out for YOU! Thanks! Best Regards, Ben
