A gentle Lullaby began to play
as Spring gave birth, to buds from pregnant boughs.
The tired earth received a large bouquet
of gorgeous blooms, as life began to rouse.

The mama dove affectionately cooed
and sang of cradles rocking in the trees.
As milk then flowed, the plants cry out for food.
They thrive, with Mother Nature's expertise.

Then youth creeps into Summer's bright refrains
and foliage is vigorous and fresh.
As life matures the sap flows through young veins
and music's played much louder, to refresh.

So Summer's Jazz and Rock play out strong chords
while hormones surge thru blood and love transpires.
For earth is full of colour and affords
the energy and zest, that life desires.

In Autumn, pace slows down, while music fades
to easy ballads; colours change to sombre hues.
Once verdant foliage, sheds wrinkled shades,
and still I dance for fun, in softer shoes.

This time's the autumn of my life. I stare
at my reflection with a yearning fear.
To see a face, once fresh, I feel despair
to see the flush of summer disappear.

I hear the hum of winters cool advance
and feel afraid of dark'ning days ahead.
When snowflakes drift will I remain to dance
or will my stiffened joints arrest my tread?

Will mists surround my mind, so loved ones fear
my fiendish mem'ries, then confused and false?
I pray the sun will shine thru long and clear,
so I can dance once more.the final waltz.
