At last-
I can freely take a deep breath in
and release without any pain.
It seems like just yesterday
I was wishing on a star for someone to come along
and save me from myself.
And even though my heart's been used and broken,
you slowly dust it off and place it next to yours.
You have this way of holding my hand-
leading me to believe nothing could ever go wrong.
Your embrace is my safety-
without it, I'd run and never look back.
Your strength is my will-
without it, I couldn't go on.
Your stare is my anchor-
without it, I'd float away from cloud nine
and your kiss is my power-
With it, I am everything I've always feared.
I could lay next to you in silence
for the rest of my life
and still be satisfied
My thoughts are consumed by you,
my body aches to breathe your breath.
Nothing can break me down again
to who I once was.
