It's not always beautiful,
not always perfect,
not always reliable, and
not always worth it.

It's not always right,
not always good,
not always nice,
and we never really should.

But it's what we want,
and it's what we get,
and after we've gotten it,
we always forget.

To all the people fighting for us,
and all the people dying for us.
Thank you so much for beliving in us.

hmmm

This poem holds so much truth in it. Something so dramatic happens such as war, and destruction. It is remembered by monuments and such. Yet after so many years its slowly forgotten. Not from our hearts but from our minds, we push it as far back in our minds as possible. We may not agree on war, or the reason for it, but in the end lets all hope its the right thing.

don't forget about the old people dying in the nursing homes nobody cares about. soliders aren't the only people who give their lives for others. think about it. think about it for 40 or 50 years.

about your poem

remembering the ones who make the decision to fight for our so-called freedom is a very noble thing for you to do.
