Fields Of Gold
Those fields of gold in summer
How they swayed beneath the sky
They danced to the tune of a lover's song
They soared so very high.
Then came a gush of cool crisp air
As Autumn took her hold
Those fields of gold, they withered
Their hue no longer gold.
The winter's snow, it felt so fierce
It smothered what was left
Those fields of gold, they struggled
But they died a painful death.
They felt so very burdened
Beneath the frozen snow
For nature played an awful game
One better not to know.
The wind, it blew so very cold
Those fields of gold were gone
To never see the sun again
It seemed so very wrong.
Then came the warmth of springtime
The snow it went away
And a bud upon those fields of gold
She rose and slowly swayed.
She woke to find a morning sun
That shone so bright and warm
Those fields of gold would live again
In but a different form.
Those fields of gold, they grew again
So tall, so strong so high
For they discovered a certain "magic"....
Fields of gold, they never die!
They may seem a different colour
They may dance to a different song
And though they died, they breathe again
For life has made them strong.
The laughter of a whispering wind
Brings to mind a special friend
Those memories last forever
For true love never ends.
Fields of gold forever......
