I've Done My Time
Author: Clive B Ringshall
Been a while and thatís to long,
Been a while and Iíve missed you so,
Today I called and you asked me round,
Arrived at 6 we went for a walk,
Holding your hand itís still the same,
My heart it flutters in a peculiar way,
As we walk the dogs run free,
They play like friends,
Even though theyíve never met,
How have you been itís been so long?
What are you doing? Since Iíve been gone
Do the children still remember me?
Remember the time we used to date?
Remember our plans each and every one?
I was sent away to work in green,
Iíd write you letters everyday,
Then one day I wrote no more,
I seemed to sleep for evermore,
Now Iím back and youíre still in me,
Now Iím back Iíd like to see you with me,
Can you forgive or take me back,
Iíll not ever leave again,
Done my time, Iíll fight no more,
All I want is to be with you and yours,
