All He Wanted

Not long ago you told me I’m to old,
From birth he was no good for you,
All through school he would never do,
These words you gave as your parting gift,
You’ll never do good,
So to please you he followed your words true,

He made his life without your support,
He made his mistake along the way,
To this day his mistakes he learned well,
To this day your mistakes still follow strong,

A family you had,
And you had it all,
Children boys all three,
You left them once then twice became three,
Are you running away from those that you made?
They reach out at times when they thought you would be,
A father nothing more is all that they needed,
Three now are grown,
You missed out on them,
Now grandchildren are five that you abandoned,
Do you not see the joy that you miss?
Do you not want a family?
No phone calls or e-mails unless you want,

He now no longer wants to try for your love,
Acceptance was needed and you pushed him away,
Not lectures in life when you’re still looking for yours,
So now you are on your own,
No children to call your very own,
No children to be proud of,
Tell me how does it feel?
To have another turn their back on you?

------- Author's Notes -------

A few weeks ago a boy told me his story,
As I listened and read I had tears rolling down my face,
To put into words they way I do not write,
I tried and he smiled even though he still loves the one who ran away.

Clive,this broke my heart...

Your words are great Luv, i remember hearing these famous words ..."Any male can BECOME a FATHER...But it takes a SPECIAL PERSON to BE a DAD" or "STEP"....
same goes for a female..MOTHER/MOM.."STEP"
thanx for sharing your heart...now i gotta go try to repair mine.....

Not Broke

Terrie you need not repair yours, your heart is strong full of love and although at times frustration may fall in, you have the love to keep it at bay,
Thank you for your kind words
