Dreams Change
5 January, 2005

Do you remember when we were young?
playing with puppy Love in our
teens,
we would hold each other in bed
telling each other our dreams.

You wanted to be a ballerina,
I wanted to save the world,
and when we spoke about having kids,
you wanted a boy
I wanted a little girl.

Then we hit adult life,
I suppose you could call it the real world,
you got mixed up with drugs,
in and out of cells.

you didnt become that ballerina,
and I didnt save the world,
now my only dream is to save my only
girl.

Dreams do change & that was very heart touching. If this is true, good luck saving your only girl.Great poem.

Megan.....

thank you for your kind words and taking time to read.no this is not about me.it came about from looking at a picture of two young children holding hands in my living room.just looking at it made me see that as a child the world is such an innocent place and that things can change so much when we get older.
once again thank you very much,

Nice one partner! When we were kids, some of us wanted to be firemen, teachers, artists, musicians. But it's sad to get older, to turn away from your goals, and become overtaken by drugs, and whatnot.

That was a beautiful poem. I really enjoyed reading it. I can't believe you got that just through looking at a picture you're good. It's true what you say though, people forget their dreams as they grow older. I hope that doesn't happen to me. Thank you for sharing your poem with us.
