Idol
20 January, 2005

Some days I feel discouraged
Like I’ll never match up
Or be the person that you were
I know I’m not enough

I’ll never achieve what you did
Never accomplish all your feats
I couldn’t ever be like you
You’re someone I’ll never beat

So why do I try so hard
To be someone that I’m not
I’m not you, we’re different people
In my admiration, I forgot

You may be my idol
I may look up to you and see
Someone worth imitating
But for now I’m content with being me.

That's the spirit

Loving yourself for who you are, and accepting yourself makes you feel content doesn't it? I also tried to imitate someone else because they were popular and I"m not. Now, I'm glad I'm not famous, I don't really like all that attention.
Great words Dimples!
