As I Watch You Sleep...

opened my eyes
found myself lying across from you
yet I felt your arms wrapped around me
I could feel the beating of your heart

I never tried to wake you up
I had to resist as I lay there motionless
I lay there silently admiring you
as you slept on the chair
holding 1 single rose

I watch you breath
I watch you dream
for every breath you let out I took 2 in
for every breath you inhaled I gave up a 3rd

your body looks so warm
I'm almost tempted to reach over
and caress your soft flesh
felt so good spending one more night with you

I close my eyes and lay my head
back upon my pillows
I thank God for last night
in this cabin
and allowing me to breath
and see the snow one more day
and dream up some sweet dreams
of the man that i love
as he too watches over me

amazing
even as I join him in his dreams
once again I relive the same dream
of watching him breath

before he dissapears into the light
he pulls me in tight and says
sweetheart this is not a dream

I was there watching you too
from my dream
i can't join you now
but please don't give up on love
for this is not a dream
God left my heart with you
and i come back to tell you
that i leave my love here with you
i am only a heartbeat away
your dreams
become real
live them to your fullest
and know that i will always
love only
you..

Joyce, thank you soooo much....

isn't it amazin' how a heart can affect another within their absence..the connection is never lost...even with all these years that seemed to continue w/o me , i believe his spirit visits in silence just watching the kids and i...and happy that God placed a decent gentelman to take care of his family where he left off...thank you your comments mean soooo much....
