Picture Perfect Moments With Dad...

sitting upon the fireplace
staring at the flames
I look back of times that passed
I recall the first time
you held our daughter in your arms
and even when we had our son
the same feelings emerged from your heart

the embrace was so memorable

you were such a great coach with our little girl

you reached over with tears in your eyes
and said baby "I love you so much"
I thank God for my 2 girls
I'd say and "I" "U"
something you came up with
that only you and i could decode

the nurse made a comment
that she had never seen a man
act as happy as you
she said why that man is on a natural high
if he got any higher he'd be touching the sky

when our son was born they asked you to leave when complications set in
I wasn't able to see the look in your eye
when you held our son close to your heart
until the very next day
that was when
I caught a tear in your eye
while you were sleeping
on the chair in my room
when you woke up
you gave me a long long kiss
and held me so tight
I had to remind you
that uhhh we were not alone

the glimmer in your eye
was so sweet
you said the perfect son the perfect daughter
the perfect mother and wife
I remember you catching tears in mine
and asked babe what is wrong??
your my perfect love
it's all too good to be true
I never want this story of us to end

i simply said you are the perfect dad and the most perfect husband

you said "oh your my silly goose"

catching a glimpse from so long ago
remembering how proud you were
every day that they spent with you
was a sweet getaway
especially when you got sick
you got to spend more time
at their side they came to you instead of me
cause now i was the one whom had to work
to make a life for us
when i'd get home dinner was ready and waiting for me with a rose or two from our rose garden
it was a picture perfect
memory that I prayed
would come back again
for me to relive
over and over again
so I'd never forget what you looked like
and felt like in my heart

I was remembering laying in bed
watching you count their fingers and toes
after you helped give them their bath
a proud papa you were

the years went by
oh they seemed so fast

you got to watch your daughter and your son
grow up before your eyes
and yet at the same time ..

time came to a stop for you
as they continued to grow with out their dad at their side
no matter how many times I hit replay it never goes beyond where I want..
tomorrow the kids will be confirmed side by side
oh you would be so proud
i close my eyes and turn away
i felt a kiss upon my lips
i knew they had to be yours
cause i felt that lingering sensation
of your mustache

i love you Pop's
