Who Am I

I look at you…
Terrified by love…

I‘m not your Father, but I would protect you from everything?

There is pain in your eyes that clouds the blue behind them.
I want to wipe it all away, but you shy away from my touch.

I’m not your savior, but I want to be your healer.

There is hate in your heart for crimes against your body and soul.
I want to punish the ones who hurt you, but sometimes I think they are me, and I AM punished.

I’m not you lover, but I want to be your comfort.

There is love buried deep inside you.
Sometimes when you look at me, I can see it fighting to come out.

I’m not perfect, but your heart fills my imperfections.

There is a fight within you.
I see you reaching out to find something, someone to hold on to.

I’m not fighting within you. I am reaching for you.

Run to me. I’m waiting for you.
I have been standing here the whole time.

I’m not who you think I am, I AM the one who loves you.
