My Pretty Little Rose

My pretty little rose
Blossoming into womanhood
Opening her frail, petal like arms
To a world of darkness and hate
Bringing a heart and a resurgence of life
Into a mind set on death and despair
With a smile of hope and loving eyes
She transcends the beauty
I had sought to destroy
Now I handle the rose with care
Trying my best to avoid the thorns
Knowing that they may suck the new life right from me
I am fixated upon this rose
This perfect rose
As I stare at each crimson red petal
My cold heart beats faster
How I long to possess this rose
Though I know it can never be
Then as each petal slowly falls to the earth
They are joined by my lonely tears
The rose slowly fades to nothingness
The cruel world continues on
But I will never forget
My pretty little rose

Splendid category! Reminds me of the movie, "Pretty in Red", or whatever it's called. Someone that resembles a rose, and its color, must make you get goosebumps! **laughs** Just dandy Jeremy, very dandy! Meri
