Unnamed Poem
Author: Scorpio

Blurred images of blackened skies;
Visions of what to come,
Gates which are diseased
With a tainted stench.
Dissimilar faces
Recognizable to mind's eye;
Sentimentally unkind.

Everlasting hatred brewing
Within the tips of whip's crack,
Creatures gazing down upon
What's left of our midden souls.
Guitar strings twined to
The sound of thunder;
Lightning somehow dimming the sky.

Wandering down endless road;
The pushing and shoving
Of ruthless chains-
But we are not alone.
Two against a million,
An audience of sabotage
With a questioning glance.

Broken wings dwindle away;
Shards of glass in our wounds
In either end, all is lost-
But we are not alone.
Amidst the blood-craved,
The torturers, and the traitors;
A leader and a guide – Truth.

Empty souls diminished to nothing;
Symbols of losing faith.
Striving to grasp perception,
Lost amidst the gyres of time.
Reality unconscious to the naked eye,
The lashes become too hard to withstand-
Our stronghold is failing.

We were heroes once,
Discarnate within fate’s hand.
Preternatural warriors
Of the raging war.
We had millions
Which withered down to two;
Our refuge still somehow stood.

------- Author's Notes -------

I have yet to acquire a name for this, as a matter of fact- I'm not even finished. This is actually a pathetic attempt of competition for a contest in my school. I'm hoping to knock out four pages, but it's going to kill me. Anywho, I wanted to submit what I had so far for the sake of it being enough to begin with. If I actually continue, like I'm hoping, I'll update it every now and then. Just for a bit of information, the stanzas are supposed to be vague, with many metaphors to make YOU think about the poem- Create your own image. (: When I'm finished with the poem, in the very last stanza, I will state my point of the poem - My perspective. But the rest is for you to guess. ^^ I appreciate any criticism to improve my poem, so I can WIN WIN WIN! oo;

Also, I dedicate this poem to my sister, Danielle. She is the one who would probably understand this the most and she has been there when no other has.
