He's Leaving Again

He's leaving again
ohh me ohh my

Going back to that place of death and destruction.
He's not just leaving me behind this time.
It's me and a new baby.

He's leaving again and we all know why.
To fight this war and keep this world at peace.

As he counts down the weeks tell his baby is born.
He thinks about the short months he will have to hold her.
Before he leaves our sides to go back to the war.

He's leaving again
ohh me ohh my

This time he's taken extra caution.
For at home he has two ladies who will wait for his return.
Praying each night for his safety and care.
That the good lord will hold him near and not judge him for his duty which calls.
For he only doe's what is asked nothing more nothing less.
To keep us all safe as we sleep the nights away.

Always remember I LOVE YOU DEAR.

This poem just popped into my head. My husband is being sent back to Iraq in Sept. We are having our first child around the 28th of April.

Terrie

Terrie,
You are always so sweet and kind. Yes we look on the bright side he will be here for the birth, and for the first couple months. He may miss her first step and her first word but he will never miss her love. He has to go now so when she is older he can make it to her first prom, be there for her first date, help her play ball, and one day give her away. For fighting is his duty and fighting is his job. We've been down this path once we can go down it again. This time a lil harder but love and faith is our strenght. Thanks for your comments terrie. Your a real sweetheart. Baby is due April 28th. Hes hoping on the 25th for his bday. Love to you and yours. Tricia!

Bittersweet

That's cool! Tricia, sorry to hear that your husband will be admitted back to the military to fight in Iraq, but I congratulate him and send him props and other militia for their braveness and courageousness! All of them are heroes indeed! And congratulations on becoming a mother! You must be excited! It's bittersweet. The bitter part being that your husband will be leaving the same year your first child will be born. Well, at least he gets to see her before he goes. Great poem Tricia! Take it easy, *Meri*
