I Love You

Dreams can only last so long,
Those dreams are fading now,
Rarely do I dream of you,
If I can make myself dream, how?
I hardly remember you,
I look at pictures now and then,
It brings tears to my eyes,
If only I could see you once again,
I try writing as much as I can,
So I can think of you everyday,
It isn’t helping that much,
There is only so much I can say,
I only had 13 years with you,
Those years went by too fast,
I wish I could go back in time,
And make our time together last,
There are few memories I have of us,
I can’t remember all the rest,
I’m sure we had good times together,
In fact, they were probably the best,
It will be 3 years in May,
May 4th, the day I lost my dad,
The hardest day of your life,
The worst day I ever had,
I can only miss you so much,
I know I’ve already said good-bye,
I love you dad, more than life,
I just wish we had a second try.

------- Author's Notes -------

After my father had passed away, I heard my friend say she wished her dad would die. And I heard her say it more than 10 times. That hurt me so badly because I used to say things like that too(probably when I didn't get my way). And now, I would give my life just to see him one more time. You'll never get a second try, so make this time count. I wish I would have known that, time is precious. God Bless-K.R
