Remember When, Love Was True

You and I, we sat in my new car, listened to the radio
On the hill, we could see, moon-light bay, down below
Waves never came, just the moon-light, upon the water
We could see, so many hearts, as we sang, with the radio

All the top hits, of our time, sorry, your father died
So, far away from home, somewhere in the Pacific,
So, the telegram-read. Today, you hear a knock, on your door
You try to run, but, there is no place to go, you open up the door

Two Marines, dressed in their blues, swords, at their side
As you open the door, one says, sorry to inform you
You back away, and slam the door, grab his son and as you cry
You hear the phone ring, God, how you cry, as you hold, your son

My mother, heard these same words, from two Marines, at her front door
Then, mom turned to me, reached out her arms, said, Daddy, is gone
That was so, long ago, now two Marines, knock at my front door
God, please, God, no, I have a child, and my husband is my life

As I calm down, I remember when, mom told me, about a special night
When she & dad, set in the car, and listened to, the radio, they could see
Moon-Light Bay, down below, they sang songs, of their time
Then, two Marines, dressed in Blue, knocked on our front door

When mom told me, why two Marines were at our front door
She cried, and I reached for her, as she held me, and through her tears
As mom held me, she said, today, the dying is over, that was 1944
Then today, two Marines knock upon my front door, in 2005, I just cry

Guess, From time, Past, You felt this to.

Thank You Brittany;

Could it be, as you look back in time, even, before, you were born. You felt these words form so, many now, gone, the pain of love and freedom as it cries for blood, perhaps, Brittany, you heard thes words before, or read old letters written to a heart, that never came come?

Thank You Britany,

For reading words, probably, long, before, you were born.
