When, We First Met

I remember when, we first met, damn, the rain was pouring down
Thunder seemed to search as it roared, for another ear, to smash
Lightening flew, as if, it knew, this would be, it's last breath on earth
The clouds growled, bubbled & mumbled, today, will be your last

Frightened, scared, humbled, we met under that highway bridge
My car was in a ditch, your SUV, just seemed to disappear
Amazing, here you are with me, under this bridge, both scared to death
I hold you close to me, we don't even know, each other's name, just this bridge

Yet, in fear, perhaps, even with some trust, we come together as the heaven's
Rage carries on above us, yet, somehow, for us, two hearts meet, no reason
Except, I know, how frightened you are, you give me, the strength, I never
Realized, I had, all, I needed was to see someone, needed me, just a bridge

Far above, our shaking hearts, we meet with no word spoken, in fear of our lives
So, many times, we have been warned, these storms will come and change
Everything we know to be, our lives, we were warned, these storms will come
I hold you close, I hear you cry, I say, hold onto me, you will be all right

Since that day, I wondered if, she survived all that life means
No, I never saw her again, but I remember that night, when hearts
Came together, I held her close, I felt like a man, but I
Never, saw her again. Still, I remember, when we first met
