Windows To The Soul

My head pressed against the glass,
Waiting for my pain to pass.
A raging fire I see before me,
Causing chaos, killing all that flee.

Flaming destruction spread far and wide,
Imprinted forever upon my mind.
Pictures of pain, suffering and death -
the only images that I have left.

An inferno of hate the fire has caused,
An inferno which cannot be paused.
Burning eternally toward the night sky,
Fingers outstretched as orange sparks fly.

I look again, more closely this time
And realise this fire is truly mine.
The flames I see on the other side
Are reflections from my own eyes.

Lovely twist.

Gosh I love the ending, I'm so jealous of how well you write :(
