Stranger

My eyes are burning,
Shimmering images appear again
You invade my thoughts
Remnants of the past return
I can't look around my own home
Everything is part of you
You are part of everything
I retreat to a dark corner
One of the few places you haven't been
I shut my eyes tightly
Block out the sounds and feelings
You have contaminated my life
Made me hide away in the shadows
The building I live in
Has become more you than me
Why does it feel like you belong here
and I am the stranger?
