Brave Lil' Soldiers

I feel myself getting' so weak
when I pray with all my might
I feel my soul fallin' to the ground
when no more of lifes beatin' can it take

I feel my blood drownin' my heart
an ocean flow washing against it
I feel the faint heartbeat
as my heart begins to weep

many lifes are placed before me
none I know I can not save
still they all become a part of me
in this job that chose me

I kneel before our Lord
and I plead to him
please do not send me any more
my heart caint take it like before

no matter how many tears
I have helped dry
over the years
my heart continues to cry
with the tears that once belonged to them

i become so hopeless
when I am presented
with a child with cancer
or an irreversible disease
and no cure to be had
brave little soldier's
they are

not one tear
not one complaint
they know heaven will be receiving a saint

to meet the parents
of these children
a challenge that they caint turn around
of a life sentence ahead

their tears merge with mine
to know that the childs time will come to an end
for those of us that feel such pain
we go home and thank God
for the healthy children that we have

many tears we shed for a child
many children receiving their wings
many Angels praise and sing

once our lil darlin's have reached heavens gate
we see the rays of Glory shine down on us
the chidren have touched those beyond heavens gates
in the same way they have touched us by keeping their fate
