I Love You Son
17 April, 2005
Author: Ben Franklin

vinebar

I can remember the day you were born,
little hands,
little feet
and of course that cute little yawn,

I held you in my arms
and my eyes started to fill with tears,
nothing else mattered in the world,
you wiped away all my fears,

Then you hit those terrible two's,
crying and screaming for what felt like an eternity,
I was ever so greatful when i was able to have a little
snooze,

at six years me and mummy took you to your first day at nursery,
you didnt want us to leave,
we let your hand go and you gave out a big sigh,
you never knew this,
but me and your mum went home and had a good cry!

I was so proud of you on your first school sports day,
you were head and shoulders above the rest when you came first
in the 400m relay!

Now your married with kids of your own,
you will never know how proud you made me and your mum,
Id just like to say these four words....I love you son

Big Daddy

Ben's a dad! Congrats Ja-min! Like Britney said, it almost sounds like you have a kid, because you sound so believable in your poem! Very good! Made me grin!

You'll make a LOVING DAD....

spoken like a real Dad...i remember the look on my husbands face when he became a proud pop..he was like a child opening up a package he always asked for on Christmas Morning...nothing could compete with that day or even touch it.. yes once you are a parent you realize how much you appreciate the little things in life...LIFE itself...."Good Health"...and accept the unexpected challenges...
Ben these were beautiful words...spoken from a heart that will be an amazing DAD someday...Terrie*

ohhh

you know its nice to read about how much you would love your kids. Some fathers don't appreciate their kids. This is so warming to know. thank-you for your tenderness.
