Puppy Love

Childhood dreams, childhood longings, so sweet and intangible. So tender and full of fairy tale romance, so naïve and yet so pure.
The most purest and loyal love of all. Unbreakable and everlasting memories, a love so simple that is so often misunderstood. It’s conviction is enough to last you a lifetime. It is the type of love that should be nurtured instead of outgrown. It is being friends before being partners. It is being soul mates without even knowing it. It is the breath of life to one another. It is being without a will to live if parted. Childhood love is not perfect and yet it is maintained unconditional. The love that goes undiscovered yet everyday lived. It is having it under our noses and not realizing it until it is lost and once it is lost…………it can never be recaptured, for love is like a two edged sword; feared, sharp and cuts both ways. Adulthood makes us forget about the sweetest love in attempt to protect our fragile hearts. We put up walls and swear to never love again. Why, because we are always going to be chasing that un-retrieveable love that we once lost. No other love will do. Regardless how many times we try; it is one heartbreak after another. By the time we find our love again, we have already outgrown it and don’t realize it is under our noses because we have been so caught up in the infatuation of that perfect love we once had that we end losing it forever. It is without question as to why we rarely find our soul mates. It takes to halves to make a heart whole and if only one is found, the other is still lost. Sometimes we get so tired of waiting that we just move on. We find ourselves and leave our lost mate to find it’s way back on it’s own. The sad part is, that sometimes our mate doesn’t know it’s been found and keeps looking for it’s “supposedly lost half” that it’ll never find.
