Going Back In Time.... by Terrie*

I took advantage
of another gorgeous God given windy day

i asked a friend to come along to the store
and i purchased a kite
I drove him and i to a mountain top
upon a grassy open field

we put the kite together
and flew it in the wind

the spark of the child within us
glowed so deep
together we giggled with so much pleasure
the sweet memories became a part of us again
another memory made to treasure

oh it felt so good
to allow that part of us out to play
even if it was just for that one day

30 % of the time I am woman
and often a high maintenance challenge
the other 70% I am but a child
and enjoy the simplest things in life

a woman can get away
with only so much

but a child

well you know..
they cain melt your heart within

my friend said oh what the Hell
this feels good I'm in
you never know life
until you go back in time
and reminisce with the child within
by letting them out to play

to see the world through the eyes of the child
is sometimes where I would rather be

because as a child you learn to share
all feelings with a friend
as an adult you think your brave
and seldom allow anyone in

so yes

I took a break from life
breathed in the wonders of his majesty
and flew a kite so high
the limit was the sky

when it came time to reel it in
and bring it down
I took a moment to look around

as i enjoyed revisiting the life i had once been in
knowing that i will be back again
i looked back and winked

as i inhaled the beauty of his love
that I live in

and i walked away as an adult once again

as a child you always wonder where your life will end...as an adult..you always want to re-visit where you've been..the child in me ..loves to come out and play..who wants to play???
