memory box of long ago
memories to hold on to
memories to let go
memories that make me smile
memories that make me cry
these are my memories
I never want to abort

if my mind should fail
please return me
to my memory box
read me a poem from time to time
show me a picture to make me smile
let me hold a card sent by you
bring out the memories for me to see
scatter my memories of the past forgotten
mix them in with the memories of today
send them off into tomorrow
spread the love we shared into every fold
and give my memories away
so another can appreciate what i told
I have plenty more
in the memory of my heart
that keeps them safe
even when I fall apart
someday i know
i must go away
but ..
my memories will stay

------- Author's Notes -------

i have an old special box on the top of that box. i printed MEMORIES of long ago,to hold on to, to let go,make me smile, make me cry. as i read through them i thought of the movie. "Notebook" so i got an inspiration and i added on to it.
