True Love Forbidden

I want to kiss you again as you stare into my eyes
But...we don't love eachother anymore
Not since we were told it would be a lie

We listened to them by saying it couldn't be
That the love we felt between you and me

"It's just a crush"
"don't fall too hard"
"Don't let him hold you.."
"He'll kill you heart"

I want you more than ever, I want it to be us
"friend we'll forever remain" as you gently take my hand

You kiss it softly just like you used to do
Place it at my side, it's never felt so untrue

You accidentally reach for me like all the times before
But those words drilled into you, like music upon a score
Playing the same tune forever and always,we'll remain apart

But still it is your hand that lies upon my heart
You say that you still love me and you'll forever be there
No one on this earth can stop you from the way you care

It was a fairy tale story from the wait it started
until you left me hanging there cold hearted

"It was only a dream" as I wake myself from sleep
but the scars are still there to remind me that it isn't you I keep

But they will soon heal and I'll find love again
I guess I'll have to continue loving you until then
