Not So Perfect

Have you ever tried counting the stars in the sky,
I've tried.and its like counting all my mistakes
and remembering all of which made you cry.

Dont you remember watching the waves crash on the beach?
I cant do that anymore, because its like my heart,
when you cant look me in the eyes.

Have you ever been shot by a gun?
I have but not like the gun your thinking.
I get shot everytime you shoot your peircing glance my way.

Watch the rain run down the windows.
I watch it all the time after I mess up.
Because the rain drops are the tears running down your cheeks.

I'm not the perfect child I always wanted to be for you.
I didnt keep promises I wanted to keep.
We both say things we dont mean to one another.

You've put up with my imperfections and stuck by my side.
Wiped my rain drop tears as did I.
Your not forced to love me,
Your not forced to hold me.

You've helped me when I've been weak.
Grabbed me before I had fallen to far.
Forced me to see what I was doing.
Stopped me from shattering among you all.

I will get up and try over agin
Because you need me just as much as I need you.
So I'm sorry Im not so perfect,
But neither are you.
