Cold, Morning In July

Woke up today, felt the cold, of my morning sun
Seemed my heart, felt it's life, had slipped away
Yet, I see, the morning birds, at play & feel the words, they sing
Through the window of a lonely heart, I love the way, the Sun & birds play

I have been, asleep to long, this is another day, will it be cold
Or, will, I let go of promises not kept, or, didn't come true
Guess, that is up to you and me, no pain was intended, or teary eyes
No loneliness, was meant, this is just, another cold, July day, with no lies

Seems, I always send my Christmas cards, out in July
Just seems to be, the right time, Sun is high, and the birds sing
I can hear all the love and feel their warmth, like, Christmas Cards
Yes, I'm Just a guy
