Same Sky

I have lived so long without you.
The pain, sometimes, is unbearable.

You were the air I breathed.
Now the air seems stale and lifeless.

I don’t think you realize the effect you had on me.
What you meant to my world.

Smile and the room warms.
Look at me and the sun rises.

Watching you laugh,
I can hear why life is so precious.

Your eyes hold the power to stop my heart.
Your touch, the power to start it again.

The way your nose crinkles when I make you blush.
The innocence of pure love on your face.

Electricity crackles through the room when we are together.
Darkness falls when we are apart.

Time and circumstance take us in different directions,
But I will always be home for you.

In my eyes, you are perfect.
In my arms, you are safe.

No matter where I go, my heart is with you.
No matter where you are, you will feel me there.

If you ever feel alone,
Look up at the moon.

As far apart as we may seem,
We are both under the same sky.

I’m only a heartbeat away.
So, please touch me again so my heart will beat again.
