Pain

vinebar

I thought my pain was the answer.
That by embracing it, I would be free.

Pain can be good.
It can be used to motivate.

But I have learned that pain has held me back.
It shackles me to my past.

I have to let my pain go.
Forgive those who caused it.

Let go of my past.
Leave behind those who lived it.

My pain has tortured me,
Kept me awake at night.

It made me fear that days ahead.
And the ones present.

But fear profits a man nothing…
And pain indebts the souls’ future.

I need to buy my soul back
So I let go of the pain.

To those who may have caused it…
Thank you… for making me the man I am.
