In The Quite Of The Night

For in the quite of the night,
I sit here all alone.
Thinking of that perfect love
that slipped away, and gone.
Tears they flow like an endless
stream, and all my soul can do is scream.
The days of our yesteryears are now so
far behind, but on this quite night
you leave footprints in my mind.
My heart so very heavy, I feel so sick
inside... Oh if only my dear, if only
you hadn't died, but I know I cannot
change what is meant to be.
I can only keep our memories, and
set your spirit free.

------- Author's Notes -------

Losing a loved one is truly one of the hardest things
in life we have to face, and moving on can be just as
hard. We try to hold on to what was, knowing we can never
have it back, but we can hold on to the memories
and let their spirit soar.

So to my love who went home to heaven
I now set your spirit free, rest my darling,
and I will keep our memories here with me.

This is such a beautiful poem...losing someone is so very hard and setting their spirit free is even harder...all we can do is hold to the memories...
