Walking With The Lord

Looking back upon my life,
Wondering how it all began,
I saw my many blessings,
And knew I was a lucky man.

Walking with me, every step,
And every avenue explored,
Was my eternal shepherd,
The awesome glory of the Lord.

He saw me through my childhood,
And all of my rebellious years.
Through the months I spent homeless,
He never failed to catch my tears.

When I turned my back on Him,
He stayed only a step behind,
And caught me when I stumbled,
For He knew I was walking blind.

Bullets tried to end my life,
And I believed my fate was sealed.
But peril cannot harm me,
With the grace of God as my shield.

My life was, again, at risk,
Beset by hepatitis C.
And again the Lord was there,
In two months, I was virus free.

Motorcycle accidents,
Where all but my body was smashed.
To departing an airplane,
Only minutes before it crashed.

He’s given me miracles,
And pulled me from the jaws of death.
If He requires it of me,
I’ll serve Him ‘til my final breath.

He would not give up on me,
And never were my prayers ignored.
That’s the kind of road one walks,
When he is walking with the Lord.

Man, this is so wonderful

Testimonies, Miracles....Splendid piece! There is nothing magical with God, he's able to do the incredible without studying hocus pocus and et cetera... Still another miraculous poem!

what I meant...

Hey Mark, I hope you understand what I mean, when I say "there's nothing magical...", I didn't want to start off wrong, so what I really mean is our Lord works in mysterious ways, but He's apart from sorcery and wizardry... It doesn't coincide with magic charms, if you see what I'm saying. I re-read my comment, and felt a tinge of guilt, because I thought my comment would slightly be misunderstood, so I had to rush back here and fix it... But beautiful poem, once again!

This is such a beautiful spiritual walk !

Mark ,you have such a great gift, as a widow mother, God carried us through, many storms, many times i thought we walked alone in darkness, he was our lamp the whole time, he helped us survive this wrecked ship, he navigated us to safe grounds from the ragin' waves ,before the sea swallowed us..he never gave up on us,and i hear you, we caint give up on him ,He Has greater plans,we have an AWESOME GOD !!!Amen! to your writin'..I LOVE THEM ALL !

Mark Spencer

I have to agree with everyone here, this poem is a masterpiece, very beautiful, The Lord can make all things happen, he bestows blessings, miracles upon us, and fills our cups to overflowing.

Meridian

I understand what you were saying Meridian. God doesn't deal in the wares of magic. And miracles are not magic. Magic is just a word that superstitious people gave to things otherwise unexplainable. Being the Creator of everything, God can alter the fabric of reality. However, people who do not want to believe in God, or miracles, prefer to create their own explanations for such occurrences. Usually these explanations have no basis in fact, and cannot be fully proven. An excellent example of this is the THEORY of evolution and the big bang THEORY. Unproven explanations for the greatest miracle of all: LIFE. Thank you all for your comments.
