She Said, He Said

She said she wanted honesty,
He said, I’m an honest man,
She asked about security,
He told her he had a plan.

She said, the thing she thought most of,
In becoming someone’s wife,
Was knowing she was truly loved,
Until the end of her life.

He said, this is my oath to you,
A promise kept unto death,
My love will remain pure and true,
Till I breathe my final breath.

She said, I want a family
And a castle by the sea.
He said, that is the destiny
I would like to share with thee.

So the two agreed to marry,
And in oath, they said I do.
Though the future did not tarry,
Love remained forever true.

And when twilight overtook them,
They shared one final embrace.
And with that the angels took them
To a far, far better place.

Where true love grows ever stronger,
And will never fade away.
It will last an hour longer
Than forever and a day.

What a beautiful picture you paint.

This reminds me of that movie The Notebook. Beautiful!
