Ode To The Lady Who First Kissed Me
23 March, 2006

Newly born, vulnerable and fragile,
Closing my eyes to the bright lights,
Afraid of the worldly gigs and plights,
I lifted my hands as if to protect my face.

After the washing and cleansing,
I was handed over to the chosen one,
I felt a sudden warmth rise within me,
As she wrapped me close and kissed me.

My forehead was the place she chose,
To lay her sweet caring lips,
I felt the never ending love of her,
Running through my spine till today.

Days ran to years and years to two decades,
I still 'hear' her soft kisses clearly on the phone,
with my dad's loud voice behind it,
This wonderful lady has brought a charm into me,
That charm is this wonderful life.

I talk, feel and write pathetic miseries,
with sadness evolving around and all along,
I missed to include the lady's pain and strain,
This lovely lady is still happy and with a 'gain'.

'Gain' for giving me 'life',
All she asks is for a small favor,
To be with her and that would make her happy,
But I roam around, dreaming and feeling lousy.

------- Author's Notes -------

She still kisses me on the phone. In this fast moving life, little do we find time for the people who raised us.As anybody would say 'I want to grow young',I would say that right now in my mid-twenties.This is dedicated not only to my parents but also to my guardians who raised me.Thanks for reading.
