I Know A Soul
24 September, 2003

I know a soul who is as golden as the sun when it melts
into the ocean at the day's nearing end.

I know a spirit who is brave and strong, eagerly
waiting to take flight against any wind.

I know an angelic creature who patiently climbs every rock,
and scales each mountain with a radiant smile and a tangible glow.

I know an inspiring human being who appears delicate, but holds within
herself an invincible magic, that she's learned how to control.

This is dedicated to my little sister Dylan Laney.

I know a poem, Angel......

I know a poem, Angel when I read one. This IS pure poetry! This writing is alive! Your imagery is vivid and sharp. It is strong from the first line to the last. This has a straight forward force within it, clearly presented, that reveals not only your heart but also a source of inspiration, another soul. It also expresses an appreciation of that other human being's characteristics and qualities in such a beautiful way. It is amazing to me how much you said with so few well chosen words. This is outstanding, original work that shines. As I keep re-reading I love it more each time! The best thing I see in this? I see your love in every line. I also see your courage and talent radiating. I'd say, "You go, Girl", but I see you're already gone!! Ha! Ha! Haaa! And just as sure as I am crazy, crazy, crazy this poem will be deep in my soul forever! I LOVE IT! It is excellent writing. Please, keep up the good work!! Love, Dad

Thank you Angel

This poem is so precious and sincere. This is the nicest thing anybody has ever done for me. It means a lot to me that you can express your love for me, along with your opinion of me, to the public. Though I could never express my love through words for you as well as you have for me, I do love you. You are and will forever be my best friend. Thank you for the poem and for being the best sister a girl could ever have.
