I am lost in a winter of discover watching the deer crossing in the field of my farm deep in the heart of Alabama and all I can focus on in my bed as I count the falling stars above my head is how in the world, as big as it is, am I going to feed my little family of three?

A virgin blanket of snow is covering up the potatoes and beans that once grew in the fields between the trees and I am a bit disappointed because my husband fell in a well and left behind me with two little babies. One a little girl named Ruby Faye, and the other a little boy who I call J.P. . Both of which brighten up my day. The cattle make their way to the barn to bed down in the soft, warm hay. As I drift away, I know the time will come when the sun's yellow rays will melt all the snow away, and I will be more thankful than words could ever convey.
