The great Albert Namatjira a true Aussie great
One of Australia's first people a Nation celebrate
Arguably Australia's greatest artist that would be fair to say
And his legend is very much alive today,
An aboriginal artist the pride of his race
Amongst his tribe and his people he takes pride of place
A marvelous artist with a style of his own
As a generous soul he was loved and well known,
His beautiful paintings lovely to behold
And his tragic life story has often been told
One who has inspired in his honor many a song and a rhyme
The great artist Albert the best of his time
United with Nature forever he lay
And a marvelous artist few like him today.
