Recipe For Love: Poems 1 To 5

As Cyrano de Bergerac prepared to speak
he mastered the language in which lovers seek.
The ladies were impressed by the size of his beak
when it protruded so prominently into next week!

--

Torn to little pieces at her feet
his memory now rendered obsolete
as the spark of their romance will never repeat
with love letters composed in a tempestuous heat!

--

Casablanca would be his bane
and losing Ilsa cause only pain
but selfish Rick had everything to gain
and was smart enough to board that plane!

--

Her hopes and dreams were sadly denied
at a place where a couple stand side by side
and the chill to the bone of the jilted bride
is a constant reminder of the day she died.

--

They came in peace to close the deal
with a mission to understand how humans feel
by examining the spokes on their wheel
and the perpetual motion of sex appeal!

Ah! If only there were more men like Cyrano....

I particularly love the first stanza about Cyrano. Very clever!!!
